Taken 2
WHY THE HELL ARE THEY MAKING ANOTHER ONE DIDN'T THEY LEARN THEIR LESSON
Justice League
After the ginormous success of The Avengers, DC and Warner Bros have been scrambling to get to get a Justice League movie off the ground.
A week or two ago the interwebs were all a twitter (see what I did there) that former Daredevil Ben Affleck was supposedly given the opportunity to sit in the director’s chair.
As it turns out Affleck is NOT involved, though he did say that it “sounds really exciting”
BUT according to some Warner Bros sources the directing duo of Andy and Lana Wachowski has been offered the gig.
Andy and Lana Wachowski are best known for their work directing The Matrix (1999) and writing and directing the two sequels The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003).
More recently they released the live action adaptation Speed Racer (2008).
This news comes somewhat because higher-up at WB are supposedly pleased with the movie Cloud Atlas which was written and directed by Andy and Lana Wachowski along with Tom Tykwer.
WB is distributing the movie.
The Wachowski’s style as predominantly seen in The Matrix is one of multiple storylines under an overarching story, something that a team up picture such as The Justice League could massively benefit from.
Also they special effects that the Wachowskis helped pioneer in 1999 had a huge influence on how action movies were made going forward.
It would be interesting to see what they would do with more than a decade of advances to draw on, not to mention a massive budget.
It would also be interesting to see how they handle the different abilities and powers of The Justice League.
While this could be nothing more than smoke and mirrors at this point, the timing of the Wachowski’s names coming up after Ben Afflecks is interesting and would mean a completely different movie.
While I am not a Justice League fan I am interested to see how this moves forward.

Arrow
The CW’s Arrow, based on the storyline and character of Oliver Queen and his alter ego The Green Arrow, is set to premiere on October 10th.
Apparently the creators are going to steer away from comic book elements like battling supernatural forces and things like that.
Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim says that the show is going to be more crime drama than comic book Tv show.
And from what I’ve read The Green Arrow is one of the characters that is best suited to this sort of treatment.
This also means that Arrow is probably going to steer clear of the cameos by other superheros like those of Smallville.
This means no Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent most likely.
I want this series to succeed and not go the way of The Cape.
And I will be watching October 10th

FAST
Apparently The Fast And
The Furious franchise hasn’t died yet…..no matter how much I want it too.
After Fast Five
did well at the box office and was better received by critics then any past installment
the producers have decided that there is still some more money that can be beat
out of this dead horse.
The main reason that I bring it up at all is that they have
gotten Joe Taslim on board to play a villain skilled in martial arts and parkour.
Taslim
is an Indonesian martial artist best known for his role in The Raid: Redemption. Though
I have yet to see Raid I have heard
people rave about it and I do plan on seeing it.
All the other actors are presumed to return and reprise exactly
the same people they played in any of the last 5 movies.
